Shabby I

Hello!! Today I decided to do less. This week felt so tiring after taking kids here and there. Still, knowing myself I dragged the kids to the garden centre this morning to pick up some paints and also some spring flowering plants. It was too nice to stay indoors so while Edward was playing in his sandpit I painted these drawers. So much for a relaxing day eh.. hoping for a productive week ahead.

I had left over blue paint in the shed which came handy.

I thought this would look good in my girl's bedroom.. now I've got to do the other one.

Country Living I

Hello!! It has been a very busy past few days for me.. spending time with my kids and taking them out a lot now that the weather has improved was on top of my list. Whenever I get a window (mostly when they are in bed) I do a bit of painting in the house. I intend to adapt shabby chic/country style for a change. I started with painting wardrobe cabinets and bedside tables which I will show here when it's all done. But today out of the blue I thought I'd paint the fireplace. We did have a dark stained one to match the dark leather sofa we have but after five years I felt a need to freshen up things and soften them a bit.

 I thought my dwarf daffodils look great on the table and placing books for Edward to look at goes well with it

I picked this small bird cage from the shop earlier and placed my butterflies around it. To begin with I could never see why this stuff is about. I wondered what else could you put in it apart from real birds but actually seeing people putting flowers inside is a good idea. As for mine, Edward threw my orchid earlier and snapped the flowers..(trust me I wasn't happy, but it was my fault for leaving it around knowing my two year would find it attractive) so I placed them inside..can't wait for my Hydrangeas to flower so I could put some in.

Today instead of going to the cinema hubby and I with my inlaws and the kids decided to have a stroll in town instead. The weather was slightly overcast though still very chilly. I had a look at my favorite flower shop to see if they've got anything for Easter. To my dismay they hadn't but I saw these Campanulas outside which caught my attention so I bought the last three.

Hello there!!!

I had  a lovely weekend celebrating Mother's Day with the family, my in-laws and a friend. After all the hectic preparation for the Sunday dinner everything has come quiet and back to normal. Unfortunately I have come down with a cold. Now I'm feeling drain and nursing a blocked nose.. sigh.. So I felt a tiny bit under the weather. However I had to go out and take our son to nursery in a very freezing condition. It hasn't been this icy cold before considering Spring should be just around the corner. Winter is certainly holding on.

Feeling drab I felt I really need cheering up.. I transferred the flowers I received from the kids into a big vase then took some photos of the Hyacinth which I thought was rather strikingly pretty in pink. 

 

 

What's with the scale? I went to buy a scale few days ago after Edward decided to throw the old one and broke it. I decided I'd get a digital this time but to no luck when I got home the one I bought didn't work so back to the same shop. I thought it might be just that one which wasn't working so I swapped for the same type. When I got home I was disappointed to find out that it didn't work either..argghh..All I wanted was a scale so back to the shop again and this time I settled for a mechanical one. At least I don't have to spend money on batteries. Have a lovely week ahead.

still in dreamland

Hi!! I hope you are more energetic this Monday morning. Me? Still longing for bed and wishing not to be awaken at 7 am today but there you go. My little girl seem to be waking up at 5 am recently. It's not good when I had a rather late night.
Well, I was working on learning to create a dreamy effect in Elements. I wasn't expecting it to be as a tedious as it was and felt like burning my midnight candle last night. I will definitely practice again but perhaps not staying out to late next time. Have a pleasant day.
