Country Living I

Hello!! It has been a very busy past few days for me.. spending time with my kids and taking them out a lot now that the weather has improved was on top of my list. Whenever I get a window (mostly when they are in bed) I do a bit of painting in the house. I intend to adapt shabby chic/country style for a change. I started with painting wardrobe cabinets and bedside tables which I will show here when it's all done. But today out of the blue I thought I'd paint the fireplace. We did have a dark stained one to match the dark leather sofa we have but after five years I felt a need to freshen up things and soften them a bit.

I thought my dwarf daffodils look great on the table and placing books for Edward to look at goes well with it
I picked this small bird cage from the shop earlier and placed my butterflies around it. To begin with I could never see why this stuff is about. I wondered what else could you put in it apart from real birds but actually seeing people putting flowers inside is a good idea. As for mine, Edward threw my orchid earlier and snapped the flowers..(trust me I wasn't happy, but it was my fault for leaving it around knowing my two year would find it attractive) so I placed them inside..can't wait for my Hydrangeas to flower so I could put some in.

That's all for me. Hope you are having a lovely day.

violets are blue...

Hello!
Today instead of going to the cinema hubby and I with my inlaws and the kids decided to have a stroll in town instead. The weather was slightly overcast though still very chilly. I had a look at my favorite flower shop to see if they've got anything for Easter. To my dismay they hadn't but I saw these Campanulas outside which caught my attention so I bought the last three.

I love looking at them..

to be or not to be..

Hi! It's midweek and I've been doing school runs the last few days under a very unpredictable weather.. think we must have the four seasons. The minute it's sunny then rain come snow and sleet. So is my photographic conquest.. sigh.. I have been trying to achieve a soft, dreamy effect on my photographs which you probably know can be quite time consuming. To be honest I could just probably buy presets from famous sites but being stubborn I wanted to learn how the pros did it. So far so frustrating as it's like a hit and miss situation. Sometimes I like what I come up with then all of a sudden I think 'no' it's totally crap and bad editing.
I was told by someone that I don't take chances or try something new.. well I have tried and my patience is running out. Do I really want to spend time messing up with images or come up with a natural beautiful shot. Photography in a way is evolving but do I really want to jump in the bandwagon and do what everybody does??? The answer is still unknown. I have to figure this out myself. I am obviously out of my comfort zone in this sense but will it be worth it? I'll let you know once I find out.. for now enjoy the rest of the working week. :-)

pick me up..

I was seriously in need of cheering up today. The dull weather didn't help my mood so I decided to go for a drive with Edward. We went to our local garden centre just to get some inspiration. It was fun for Edward as they had a good selection of Thomas the Tank books.. the look on his face was a picture. He couldn't decide which one to get so I ended up buying him a musical hardback and a Series 9 DVD. I nearly bought myself white Hydrangeas.. sigh. I know this is going to eat me thinking about it and wanting to have one. I have a purple one in front of the house which I'm hoping will do well this year. So we'll see how long I could bear..

Then we head back to the supermarket to buy some bits and pieces. After seeing my contacts with Tulips in their pages and blog I can't resist buying these ones the moment I saw them. There was only one bunch of pale pink and some yellows which I thought was quite pretty.
When I came back Alex told me I was bored.. well perhaps that's what it was. I just wanted to go away or do something. I am slightly panicking as I am going back to work in a couple months time and as much as I'm looking forward to it I worry about the kids and getting to a new hectic routine.. juggling work, kids, house and my own interests plus hubby as well.
So there he was looking for some late deals on the net.. bless him. We will still go away but as for now trips to cinemas and dinner dates will do.

You'll probably see some more Tulips photos these coming days.. we'll see what I'd come up with.. Enjoy the rest of the weekend..as for me F1 Grand Prix starts tomorrow so should be fun.

Reborn

A new season is fast approaching and so many changes and happenings have come about already. I feel excited, nervous yet hopeful that things will finally progress for the better for my family.
A while ago I never wanted to look at places my hubby and I visited but we've gradually explored them again slowly and steadily. Each moment spent and captured will always be precious.
I haven't been out with my camera for sometime and I'm glad I have just started to enjoy taking pictures again. This is my take on the Snowdrops at Ruthland Water.
